Antonio Diez-Caballero grows the fruit for this wine at his family's estate vineyard in Elciego, in Rioja Alavesa. His 2020 has amplitude and volume, and the stamina to hold it fast. Red and black fruit meets lithe, green-peppercorn spice, the wine young and fresh ni its juicy explosiveness.
Dark ruby in the glass, this wine has blackberry and lavender aromas. A floral note transitions to the palate and underlies black-cherry, pomegranate, dark-chocolate, fennelbulb and black-olive-paste flavors. Grippy tannins fill the mouth and linger there for a while, dropping off to showcase touches of raspberry and violet.
